Their credentials have been reviewed by the European Board of Veterinary Specialisation. Charter Diplomates formed the Interim Coucil of ECLAM and reviewed applications of de-facto specialist until the first Council was elected. Experienced members in the field who were elected initially by the Charter Diplomates and later by the first elected council. De-Facto Specialist were accepted into the college for 24 months after the provisional recognition by EBVS. This period ended at the end of October 2002. Veterinarians who satisfy ECLAM requirements as to training, experience and competence. Candidates either have to complete an approved training programme or alternatively provide evidence of sufficient experience before passing a qualifying exam. The application guidelines detail the requirements and provide links to the application forms. Diplomates who have retired from practising or teaching. Veterinarians who have contributed in an extraordinary manner to the advancement of Laboratory Animal Medicine. Elected by majority vote of the membership of the College. Non-Veterinarians who have contributed in an extraordinary manner to the advancement of Laboratory Animal Medicine. Elected by majority vote of the membership of the College.
